Field Trip!
Today we went on a field trip or you could call it a Mommy has got to get out of the house trip. We went up to Amish country and just had a great time! Our first stop was the beautiful Carlile Inn. I had to meet with the Group sales lady because this is where out ladies retreat will be held on September 5-6th. Talk about nice... more than nice. It was built in 2004 so it is brand new! I negotiated a deal for that weekend... Amish supper, conference room, full breakfast, a soup and salad lunch buffet, and room for 65.00 per person! Any one want to come? :)
Then we drove down the road to the Heinz cheese factory were we were given a grand tour on how to make cheese. The best part was the free cheese sampling afterward. They had two whole rows of every kind of cheese you can imagine. From Taco cheese to the moon cheese to regular cheddar. All told, we ate about 35 different varieties. Imagine with me all my children sampling all that free food! Chaos!!! But is was fun! Then they also had fudge to sample as well. Long story short. Out large family had a great snack for free... you can't beat that! :)
On our way out of town we stopped at the largest specialty toy story around our area! Ben, remember all your play mobile toys? They had every kind imaginable. The lady told me yours were worth a lot of money. Needless to say we stay there a long time!!
Of course, you can' t go to Amish country with out getting fudge... YUM!! Serenity had it everywhere! She obviously throughly enjoyed it!
We drove home the back roads to enjoy all the Amish homes and fields. We even saw their local schoolhouse way out in the middle of nowhere. All in all we had a great Day!

Cassandra,
When we lived in Ohio, we used that Inn for a Couples' Retreat. It was the first retreat I had ever been on, and it spoiled me for the rest of my life! Nothing else will ever measure up! Everything was super, especially the food! I'm sure you will enjoy it!
